Product information
Sodium carbonate is a salt of carbonic acid. It is a water-soluble salt whose aqueous solution reacts strongly alkaline. The raw materials calcium carbonate (lime) and sodium chloride are further processed to sodium bicarbonate and ammonium chloride with the aid of ammonia. The resulting sodium bicarbonate is then calcined, i.e. heated, to produce sodium carbonate.
