Product information
Sodium bisulfite is the salt of sulfurous acid. Among other things, sodium bisulfite is produced in large-scale chemical processes using sulfur dioxide and sodium carbonate. Sodium bisulfite occurs as a sulfonate in many compounds, for example in detergents and surfactants, and is used on an industrial scale for the purification of ketone and aldehyde compounds. Due to its reducing properties, it is popular as a reducing agent, for example in wastewater treatment.
