Ammonium sulphate is the ammonium salt of sulfuric acid. It is a highly water-soluble, crystalline salt that is slightly acidic in aqueous solution. Industrially, it is usually produced by neutralizing ammonia with sulfuric acid; in this process, the ammonia reacts with the acid to form ammonium sulfate, which is then crystallized and dried.
