Aluminum sulfate is the aluminum salt of sulfuric acid. Aluminum sulfate is synthesized by reacting an aluminum-containing compound, such as bauxite ore, with sulfuric acid. Aluminum sulfate is applied, for instance, as a flocculant or pickling agent. Solid aluminum sulfate is used in various grain sizes from ground to coarse grit.
